This Code system is used in the following value sets:

  • RequestStatus (Codes identifying the lifecycle stage of a request.)

Codes identifying the lifecycle stage of a request.

This code system defines the following codes:

draft DraftThe request has been created but is not yet complete or ready for action.
active ActiveThe request is in force and ready to be acted upon.
on-hold On HoldThe authorization/request to act has been temporarily withdrawn but is expected to resume in the future.
revoked RevokedThe authorization/request to act has been terminated prior to the known full completion of the intended actions. No further activity should occur.
completed CompletedActivity against the request has been sufficiently completed to the satisfaction of the requester.
entered-in-error Entered in ErrorThis electronic record should never have existed, though it is possible that real-world decisions were based on it. (If real-world activity has occurred, the status should be "cancelled" rather than "entered-in-error".).
unknown UnknownThe authoring system does not know which of the status values currently applies for this request. Note: This concept is not to be used for "other" . One of the listed statuses is presumed to apply, but the system creating the request does not know.

Explanation of the columns that may appear on this page:

LvlA few code lists that FHIR defines are hierarchical - each code is assigned a level. See Code System for further information.
SourceThe source of the definition of the code (when the value set draws in codes defined elsewhere)
CodeThe code (used as the code in the resource instance). If the code is in italics, this indicates that the code is not selectable ('Abstract')
DisplayThe display (used in the display element of a Coding). If there is no display, implementers should not simply display the code, but map the concept into their application
